Oct. 21st, 2007 11:36 pmWhaaaaaat, I just had a cold, how have I got another? ;_; *eyes
vanillafire warily* Well, I'm fairly certain it isn't tonsillitis, because I'd feel *much* worse than this, but... My throat and ears feel really nasty. Woe~! [/blatant begging for sympathy and fic to cheer me up *cough*]
Seasick Steve was amazing! The place was rammed! I've never been to such a packed gig! And probably never seen such an appreciative audience, either. (Though the guy stood next to me was *so* annoying. He replied to *everything* Steve said, in a really loud voice, and the things he said were just irritating, lol. "I'm a mermaid." "What's the frequency Kenneth?")
Seasick Steve was a hobo. He tells us he left home at 13 and basically played guitar and rode freight trains and hitchhiked around America, waking up in jail every so often. Now he plays the blues on a plank with a wire and a can attached. Or, if he's feeling fancy, a 3-string guitar. The first time we saw him was on Jools Holland's Hootenanny on New Year's Eve 2006, so when I saw he was in town I thought, why not? And man, it really did feel old school, it was kind of a privilege to encounter something so raw in this day and age. The cams can't really capture it, but it was really great. Just wish I wasn't feeling quite so crappy, I'd've enjoyed it even more! x_o
Also had delicious gyuudon at the East Ocean cafe. With really good salmon nigiri and miso soup too. :9
Ugh, I might have to not go to class tomorrow, if I feel this grotty. I just don't want to talk, it hurts!
