Feb. 2nd, 2006 01:59 amIf you ever get a chance to watch a film called Revenge of the Drunken Master, take it! It's the funniest thing I've seen in a very long time. It had a drunk man wearing comedy make-up teaching kids to fight; a drunken fighter who was also an acupuncturist, though his only acupuncture ability seemed to be, er, making people laugh; that same man in a grass skirt; several incredibly gay villains, one of whom had a pet gimp, and another who wore a yellow robe with pink trim over leopard print trousers. Oh, and a fake hopping vampire! I KID YOU NOT. Very, very entertaining, and the first three-quarters or so were actually fairly... coherent too! Which is always a shock, in dodgy low-budget martial arts movies!
There was also the Leopard Fist Ninja movie, which had the two ugliest men I've ever seen playing brothers who like to hold hands and exchange very meaningful glances a lot. Ahh, happy evenings! ♥ to
lostandlovingit and
rat_lord for use of their DVD! XD
Also saw King Kong yesterday, which was highly enjoyable, despite really being far too long. It also proved once more the rule that Everyone Just Needs a Monkey To Love, aka Aladdin's Law. (I might have to add that to my interests list, actually.) Coincidentally, I then watched Most Haunted and it was the one where Derek got possessed by a monkey - apparently, the ape's spirit still haunts th place because it hasn't linked up with its master! It's a truly tragic tale, I'm sure you'll agree.
Following a logical progression, I feel the need to say I've written 13 and a half sentences for my
1sentence claim. ;)
In angstier news, my brain's feeling bad again. Probably need to look into getting a job again - was considering doing some voluntary work but I don't know what I want to do. Guess temping will be OK, if I can find somethingthat isn't Dixons, no offence
rat_lord. Still wondering whether to go back to uni, as learning, whilst not being the only time I've ever been happy, has been the only *occupation* that I've been really satisfied with. But I don't think I'm clever enough to be an academic. Haha, I guess I'm just a jack-of-all-trades. ^_~
OK, shutting up about stupid whingy angst now. Dear lord. *hits self over head*
