Oct. 1st, 2007 05:00 pmWireless on the campus is so dangerous. @_@ I'm not bringing my laptop again, unless I need it! I've been here since 10 - first class was cancelled, haha, but no-one had bothered to tell us! So we went for a cup of tea before next class at 11. ...We waited for 15 minutes before we thought that the same thing had happened, and we were talking about leaving when someone's phone rang, and it was the department saying the lecturer was on her way. Damn! XD If only we'd not sat and talked for that extra couple of minutes... XD But as it was, she only kept us for about half an hour as it was the introductory session (and two people weren't there anyway... o.o) So I was done by 12! I went down to the new library (Information Commons is too much to type every time ^^') and set up my computering account and so on, and set up my laptop to work here... then I had some lunch, got some books out (most of mine are still in the crummy old library >(), and now it's nearly 5 o'clock and I've read like 10 pages of one book. ^^' To be fair, I think I've started with one that's not particularly enthralling, but oh well, I'll see how far I get! As I'm going to come back for manga soc later anyway, I thought I might as well stay, I'd only be doing the same stuff at home as I am here!
Haha, that was a thrilling day, wasn't it? XD But I'm glad, I felt perfectly comfortable and happy talking to the people on my course, and the department is endearingly disorganised, but also seems very helpful and approachable. And I was wandering through the shelves in the library going "Oooo that looks exciting!" at all the books for my subject that I *don't* have to read, lol, so that's a good sign... I think! XD I might sit in on some undergrad lectures so I can get a bit more grounding in the history of English and so on. I've also emailed someone about Japanese evening classes, so I hope that works out too...
Now I think I'm going to go up to theWorkspace Gallery and watch some clips. ;)
