diamondlifeRang Asus technical support - apparently there's nothing defective about my machine or the battery, they're only supposed to run between 1 and a half and 2 hours on battery.
That's rubbish! I sent an email to the place I bought it from (which is apparently not Asus at all, but a misleadingly-named "asuslaptops.co.uk") asking them the procedure for returning it. Cos frankly, that's quite bad.
Maybe if I want longer battery life I have to buy a more expensive machine. Huh.
