diamondlifeWhew, well, I love when my fandom goes berserk! I know everyone knows the really important stuff about the second Dome concert now, but I thought I:d share a few of the other bits as well! Again, it:ll just be my own impressions (ie, it:ll be the Subaru Report XD), but hey, I:m milking the fact that I was an eyewitness for all that it:s worth! XD
I:ll mainly be talking about things that were different from other times I:ve seen them, because the set list was largely the same and the songs were all really good and everyone sounded great (though Ryo did sound a little bit hoarse at times - that boy needs to quit smoking! XD). So please refer to my other flailings for more details, such as they are!
I was up on the second floor, so miles from everything and at the opposite end from the main stage, but I was right opposite the screen and had a decent overview of everything. I usually spent a lot of time working out who was who, and then watching Subaru, because the place is so enormous they didn:t mix or meet each other nearly as often.
So they came out, did the usual ZOM -> Kanfuu Fighting -> Sukiyanen - but they were so far apart in Sukiyanen that no-one could give each other their kisses this time.
The main source of notably different bits was 8Ranger, of course! Orange and Red did the confessions this time. Orange did his like he was a delinquent who was shy around his sweetheart, it was very cute. Then Red started singing this very warbly song that I:m sure I:ve heard before, like a sort of Il Divo style of thing, imitating the singer, it was very funny. When he:d sung the whole thing, everyone else looked at him a bit stunned, and said to do it again, properly, lol, but he just started singing the song again until Nasu stopped him. XD
Red was also very sweetly over-the-top surprised when Blue said he had someone he liked.
Blue was of course ultra-cute with the mannequin - he talked in such a sweet voice and put his head on her shoulder before he confessed, then was so adorably happy when she said she liked him too. The mannequin:s boyfriend was a teeny weeny junior this time, but I don:t know which one.
Black got right up in Blue:s face when he was "confessing" to him - he said "I love you!" over and over again and put his hands on Blue:s face, then Blue pulled away and Black got Nasu instead. :D
Red didn:t need any persuasion to go after Blue this time, when Blue had run away (saying "Black, I hate you! ;_;") - he looked very worried and before he went, he turned back and said to Nasu "...We:ll be OK, won:t we?" Everyone had a little "Awwww!" at that.
The wrap-up to 8Ranger was very tight this time, no messing around like other times! That was one of the things that clued me in they were filming for DVD, haha. Black:s mic stopped working so they had to give him another, and he went and did the start of Arigatou.
Yoko mentioned that in the MC too. The rest of the MC was about "ai" and "koi" (both words for love) and how they:re different. Maru said something intelligent about the components of the kanji. Then Yoko talked about speaking to Yasu on the phone and did the cutest impression. "Kimi-kun~!" Yasu was adorably embarrassed and put his hands over his face and giggled, and Hina smacked him very lightly.
Then Hey! Say! 7 performed their song. I was a little disappointed (at the time!) there were no guests, but later on they brought out Ya Ya Yah, someone from ABC and Kitayama from Kis My Ft2, but they just wandered around during one of the songs, waved a lot and went away again.
We got all the solos, and they were all amazing, of course! I:d forgotten how gay Maru:s was, haha. Watashi Kagami was very lovely - Yasu sort of lay down at one point playing the guitar. I was a bit sad I didn:t get to see a Band song - I was holding out for One, damnit! ;_; Ah well, on the scale of things it doesn:t really register! Yoko didn;t do Wonder Boy either, he did Fantastic Music, his previous solo. I don:t think it:s as good a song, but it does have the cute VTR segment so I really wanted to see it! This time Red and Black Ranger woke Green Ranger up in the middle of the night and filmed it. Ohkura looked so grumpy, it was adorable. :D
They did an album medley! Jimoto no Ousama, Speedy Wonder, Great Escape (I think that was it!) Later they also performed Energy, but it was a bit... rough. XD I wanted everyone to do their letters! I still can:t work out who the second E is...
The rock segment at the end was of course just as damn amazing as before! Ohkura:s solo drumming, oh my lord, I was so incredibly impressed! He gets so into it and he:s brilliant! Then Maru and Yasu come out, then the rest of the members, and they did Do You Agree and Goujou ni Go and Ai ni Mukatte (I love that song!) and Subaru got to rock out and do a monkey dance and jump up and down a lot. :D
Overall, I just kept thinking how happy and comfortable they all looked in such an enormous venue! Subaru would sing his lines, then you:d just see him grinning, like he was so thrilled to be there he just couldn:t keep the smile off his face! I was so happy for him, I felt so fuzzy inside. (And hey, if he was putting it on for the benefit of the camera, he:s a very talented actor! XD And on available evidence, I wouldn:t go quite that far, so I reckon it was real!)
But then, of course. The big moment. They did their first encore, which was Mugendai and ZOM (when they all say their names to introduce themselves in ZOM it:s soooo cute!). Then they went away, and of course we expected two or three encores, lol. But when they came out the second time, Yoko immediately said something that got the crowd excited, then they all ran down as fast as they could to the end of the arena near where I was, and I saw someone jump off the runway (I thought it was Maru at the time, because jumping off the runway is a very Maru thing to do) and pull someone out of the crowd over the barrier. I couldn:t see their face till they were on the stage, I couldn:t even tell if it was a guy or a girl, but eventually when they showed it on the screen we all realised it was Uchi and the place went absolutely bananas! The band all hugged him and chatted with him and everyone was laughing and smiling and looked so happy, and they were saying "Welcome back!" I remember especially noting how decisively and emphatically Hina kept saying "Kanjani Eito" - he sounded so satisfied, like he really had been waiting to say it properly again. I didn:t see who gave him the tour t-shirt, but he took off his own t-shirt and put it on, and they all held hands and said goodbye. I was completely convinced at the time that Uchi was back in Kanjani8, the crowd were going so bonkers and with the t-shirt and everything. I fully expected them to launch into Mugendai again or something!
I wasn:t into K8 until a long time after Uchi was suspended, I:ve never claimed to care about him; but honestly, last night, everyone looked so damn thrilled to be together that I was utterly won over - I flailed and screamed with everyone else, because it felt like such an important moment for the band. It:s impossible not to be happy for them. They:ve worked so hard. They really deserve some reward. I really, really hope they get a ton more recognition and success, and if Uchi comes back, maybe there:ll be an even bigger chance of that happening.

Oh yes, and this is the reason why Shibutani Subaru is my favourite pop star ever. It:s like something off a Miles Davis album cover. Unending adoration!
