OK, let's have a real update that's not just for fangirls, shall we? XD

I do indeed live! Though the same can't be said for my wireless, which is still ailing. -_- Oh well, I'll take what I can get!

OK, so I spent the last couple of nights in Matsumoto, which is a nice little town up in the mountains in Nagano-ken. But there's not a lot to do there, aside from a really very impressive castle, so I spent a bit of time in the manga kissaten. :D The place I stayed was a little quaint but lovely - they didn't speak very much English, which made me wonder quite why it showed up on HostelWorld, where obviously lots of foreigners make bookings. But never mind, I was able to negotiate a pick up from the station and have some simple exchanges, and they were lovely people! Though my room obviously wasn't quite finished - it had no curtains so I kept waking up at 4.30. =_= They *asked* me whether I wanted tatami or bunk, I *had* to choose tatami!

Anyway, the castle was great, but to be honest, Matsumoto wasn't a must-see. I wish I'd gone to Takayama, but I guess we still have time! Anyway, today I came back to Tokyo, hoping to have a bit of a rest before [livejournal.com profile] giving_ground gets here! But oh my frickin' lord, this hostel is so damn annoying! There's, like, a hundred people here, all foreigners, and even though it's nearly midnight they're still being damn loud in the common room. Plus, you can't seem to help yourself to tea, for some reason, and the building's like a prison! The rooms are fine, but there's no plaster on the walls of the stairwells and corridors, and you go outside along this balcony to get to the dorms. XD I wish I'd stayed in a business hotel! There's one down the street that looks really nice, and it's cheaper than this hostel! You get a private room that almost certainly has a TV, and even though they're not ensuite there'll probably be a big bath. The one I stayed in in Osaka was in a rough area, but it was, like, £9 a night and perfectly fine on the inside! This is doing nothing to alter my opinion that Tokyo is a hole that I just don't really want to touch. ...That sounded wrong. But still apt. XD

I'm going to take it easy for the next couple of days, and maybe try and do some shopping. I'd love to just have a wander, but I don't know where to start. I think Tokyo and me just aren't destined to get on. XD Hopefully I'll be able to meet up with a couple of people I've met on my various travels! It'd be a good opportunity to work on my [livejournal.com profile] jexchange and the Subaru/Yasu/Ryo fic that CERTAIN PEOPLE have made me think about ;), so I'll buy myself a nice new Japanesey notebook. ;)

Bloody hell, I'm so ready to stab someone right now. XD I did manage to at least dl MuchaBuri (finally!!) earlier, so maybe I'll just retreat to the dorm and watch it. >:E

Oh, and on the offchance anyone wants to see Subaru rock from 2002, dl him performing his own song Window. It's totally A+++.

Oh, oh! And I bought an Arashi book second hand today, because it was Y600 and Sho is my new pin-up, since Yamada Taro started. LOOK WHAT YOU PEOPLE HAVE BROUGHT ME TO. LOOK. *dies*
