Remembering 9/11 is one thing, but this is just disturbing. I'm actually quite horrified - so much so I'm leaving this unlocked. And this sort of attitude is meant to improve the world's situation how? I had a dream last night, and for some reason both George Bush and Al Gore were in it, and I remember saying "If Al Gore had won that election, 9/11 would never have happened".

I hate being told what to think and what to experience. When it's couched in gently encouraging tones it's patronising ("Just try it! You'll be surprised"); when it's flatly dictated it's infuriating. Unless I'm specifically asking, I don't really want anyone's advice. I try never to give it, either - I hate seeing people telling my friends "I don't think that's a very good idea" when really, my friend might have a very good reason for wanting to try it anyway. My policy is to to back up a friend, help them clarify their own thoughts and make the best of something, rather than make them do what might objectively seem like "the right" thing to do.

And so on, and so forth.

I'm not actually feeling bitchy, and I was also going to do a more squeeful post about Saiunkoku, but I feel it's probably more appropriate to keep it separate.
