You'd think, in these times where the price of the weekly food shop has risen so much, mums would still be saying that. I'll let the BBC article say it better than I can.
(Admittedly I've never been a person who feels compelled to clean my plate, but I've always had other people to palm off my leftovers onto. I feel it's an excellent solution! It really annoys me when people put leftovers straight into the bin as soon as they've finished eating - you might want that later! And if you don't, I or someone else might!)
...Now I feel guilty about those grapes I bought and forgot about. :X Maybe they're still guinea pig standard... I do love having pets that are designed to eat the bits we don't want. :D
