We're in Kyoto! And we're in a 5-star hotel that cost us like $200 each, it's excellent. :D We only got here at 4pm today, though, so tomorrow we start exploring. :)

I dreamt last night I was at a concert where both TOKIO and K8 were performing. Then I started to realise it was a dream and was trying to convince myself it wasn't, but I was waking up. Gutted!

Just watched MuchaBuri with Leah Dizon! I didn't know whether to feel a bit sorry for her, she seemed a bit... uncertain about everything (and the boys didn't help, with the way they kept giggling). Everyone was lookin' good in yukata though, and Maru and Ohkura both looked gorgeous in the VTR. :9 Hey, we all know MuchaBuri isn't about the guest, even when it is Leah Dizon! I've never heard of next week's guests, but the show looks bonkers. Almost as mad as the laugh-yoga woman. XD ...But next week when it's on, I'll be getting ready to go home! ;_; Awww, I'm starting to feel sad now! I'm not gonna see K8 again, I'm not gonna be able to watch their TV shows or any of the dramas as they're on anymore... ;_; You know, one of the things I'm going to miss most about Japan is the TV. I love Japanese TV!

I'm already making my list for next time. ^_~ I'm lucky I have more lovely friends coming here next year! *smarm smarm*

Oh yeah! ^^' It was a lot of fun - the singing was mainly decent to good, and the songs were actually pretty good too! The new main theme (I'll keep calling it the Giri-giri song until I learn better) was very good, and it was followed right after by Rikkai doubles pairs thrashing Seigaku to another very good song.

Then we moved right into Inui vs Renji. It's my favourite match in the whole of PoT, but I just don't know what to make of myu Renji - it's not that he's *bad*, he just isn't anything very much! They had a nicely done VTR for the flashback parts though, and I thought the match was quite well paced. The songs were on the poor side though. ^^'

Fuji's mushy song about Tez was pretty dreadful too. Kirihara's song was great though! It started out "Hey genius!" and the rest of Rikkai joined in and danced. Jackal got up, beckoned Marui over, they started dancing, then D1 joined in too. There was thrusting. @_@ The guy who plays Kirihara is amazing, he plays it perfectly - impish but also quite decidedly evil as well, at least to start with! He was laughing when he blinded Fuji. Aiba did a slightly comedic backwards fall before getting up, declaring "...I can't see!" and that was the end of the first half.

In the second half we saw Rikkai in their blazers and scarves singing to their undead captain. Yukimura was lying on a trolley on a raised platform, but he just sat up like a zombie, sang some bits, then lay back down again. XD Earlier he was rolled across the stage on the trolley, holding his racquet. Everyone laughed a lot. XD Sanada will be heartbroken, but Yukimura + racquet = OTP! He was looking at it very lovingly. His and Sanada's duet sounded good too - I'd been prepared for Yagami Ren's wobbly singing, but he's by no means the worst singer ever to appear in Tenimyu - for what that's worth. XD

Haha, during Ryoma and Sanada's match, Ryoma was speaking Engrish and I totally didn't even realise till he did it the second time. I have no idea what he said! XD Sanada had a very long song about Fuu Rin Ka Zan, which had some narration from Yanagi, Sanada on a raised platform, a backdrop of FIRE and more thrusting. As [livejournal.com profile] giving_ground put it, there was something dangerously YMCA about it all. XD OK song though!

Sanada kept saying he thought he saw a samurai. Then Ryoma sang a song about being a samurai. I actually quite liked that, the comparison of Sanada and Ryoma through that samurai link. (Hey Konomi, you didn't milk that one enough!) We got the obligatory sequence of the under the train tracks scene, but the singing that accompanied it was at least decent!

After the end of the match, we see Kentarou training, with one spotlight on him. Some spooky voodoo music starts playing, and behind him a tall shadow keeps passing by... It's Chinen! After the last time, Kentarou sniffs the air a bit and says "...Gouya?" XD

Higa, it has to be said, stole the myu, though they were only in the last 15 minutes. Kite is amazingly camp, but in that Tenimyu way that makes everything better because it can assume knowledge of everything that happens afterwards. He and Chinen were perfect - Chinen was wonderfully creepy and undead-like, and they sang a spooky sort of Tenimyu-ified Okinawa-style song which was very enjoyable too. At the curtain call they were right in front of us, and Kite looked so aloof and puzzled at having to hold the hand of one of the ichinen, it was absolute genius. He and Chinen didn't bow, just bobbed their heads a little. Fantastic! Can't wait to see tham again! XD

When we were having dinner afterwards, in the restaurant they were playing some of those CDs of, like, muzak versions of pop songs. It took me a little while to work out, but the first one that was playing was an accordian rendition of Kanfuu Fighting! XD

...I think I was going to say something else, but it's lost now in the mists of 1.30am. ^^' Was probably K8 related. I think I have some more Uchi things to say, but I'm kind of waiting. Hey, now it's not if, it's when, right?
